It started with a challenge…
Over twenty years ago we purchased our large sandy lot in the seaside community of Marina complete with annual weeds, rotting fences and climate inappropriate ornamental shrubs. Undeterred, a garden began to form, and many lessons were learned over the years in the challenges of sandy soil, wind and foggy summer seasons. The garden has become a working laboratory for testing plant hardiness, function, style and garden design. I can think of no other occupation that offers as much satisfaction as working with plants, defining personal space and sharing my garden tested skills with others.
